Brad Fritsch's has travelled a lot of miles in pursuit of a big win as a professional golfer, put in a lot of miles and a lot of time.
So what was another hole?
The Rideau View Golf Club member from Mantic made a par on the first playoff hole to win the Web.com Tour's Servientrega Championship Sunday in Colombia against American Ollie Schniederjans, who made a triple bogey.
"I annoyed the golf gods enough to where they finally gave up for a week," Fritsch said in a typically self-deprecating manner.
It was the biggest win of the 38-year-old's career. He earned $126,000 for the victory which will move him to fifth place on the Web.com Tour's money list. The top 25 money winners will earn cards for the 2017 PGA TOUR.
Fritsch birdied the 18th hole of his final round to catch Schniederjans and force the playoff.
Fritsch was leading by a stroke with two holes to play, but bogeyed the par-3 17th hole to fall into a tie with Schniederjans. When the American birdied the par-5 18th, that put Fritsch in the position of having to do the same.
Fritsch finished 72 holes at 11-under-par 277 after a final round 1-under par 71. On Sunday, in addition to his birdie on 18, he birdied the second, fifth, and 10th holes. He had bogeys at nine, 13 and 17.
Fritsch's previous best performance was winning Web.com's Tour Q-School in 2014.
